Hani Abusamra

Hello, my name is Hani Abusamra and I implore you to find a person that is better suited to complete the project at hand.

I graduated from the Architecture and Visual Arts School (AVA): University of East London with the highest grades in my class and consequently gained a first class degree in Graphic Design. During my time at university, and for several months afterwards, I was lucky enough to be a part of several exhibitions held both nationally and internationally - some of which I held and curated myself and others that I was asked to be a part of. It was of the back of these exhibitions that I aroused the interest of several magazines, e-zines, blogs and websites including the world famous typography website, Typography Served. It was also during my time at university that I taught my self a plethora of less conventional forms of print making by spending the majority of my spare time in the print studio. Some of these techniques included screen-printing and litho-printing.

After university I interned with two different companies that specialised in different areas of the design industry. The first of the two internships was with Pixley Printhouse in Mile End. It was here that I learned to properly finish and render articles of print based design. I mastered the art digital printing and also started learning about other, more specialised, forms of digital printing including riso-printing and giclee-printing. The second of my two internships was with Id&Ego Design. Whilst interning at Id&Ego design I got my first taste of designing for high-profile clients in a studio setting. I was lucky enough to handle briefs from such clients as the world famous reggae band Toots and the Maytals and the annual music festival In The Woods.

After exhibiting and self promoting for a few months out of university I spent more time focusing on freelancing as a graphic designer and illustrator; having freelanced as a graphic designer and illustrator, on and off for a number of years, I decided that it was a route that I wanted to explore on a more in depth level. During this time I was lucky enough to work and collaborate with some fantastic brands, individuals and companies including the advertising and media recruitment agency Hutson & Partners, the Music management and promotions company Blurb Music PR and the hostel chain Journeys, to name but a few. As I neared the end of summer 2011 I was offered a temporary position at West Lane Digital as an in-house graphic designer where I worked during the winter months of 2011.

It is due to all of this experience across all manners of design disciplines that I know I am perfect for the job in question.
